Katy Perry tops the weekly slate of Hot Tours with sales reported from five cities on the four-month North American swing of her Prismatic Tour, which kicked off in the U.S. on June 22. The first four dates of the tour, reported during a previous week, were sellouts at arenas in Raleigh, N.C.; Washington, D.C.; Nashville; and Atlanta. This week's tally includes concerts at three Florida venues along with two arenas in the metropolitan New York/New Jersey market.
The Florida run began in Tampa with a June 30 performance at the Tampa Bay Times Forum with 13,680 fans in the house. The Fort Lauderdale market produced a crowd of 12,888 on July 2 at the BB&T Center, and the second South Florida stop the following evening was a sellout with 13,543 sold seats at Miami's American Airlines Arena. The next week Perry headed to the Northeastern U.S., playing to a full house at New York's Madison Square Garden on July 9. A two-night engagement at Newark, N.J.'s Prudential Center followed on July 11 and 12 with more than 25,000 tickets sold for both shows. The $3.3 million Garden State gross is the North American leg's best box office result so far.
