Hi guys! I registered on ATRL only because of their section "Your Top 10" where we can share our countdowns. I find it funny when I started doing these countdowns because I thought I was very geeky doing this lmao. Then suddenly I found out that I was not the only one doing it! Like OMG! A site to share your Top songs!! OMG!! So I waited 30 days to gain access.. errrr.. Now I'm here!!!
HOW MY COUNTDOWN WORKS
1. I only chart mainstream songs. Whatever is fresh and new they are the only ones who will be appearing on my chart. No album songs too. Just singles. So expect a mediabase/billboard like countdown
2. The chart positions are based on my ipod's weekly plays
3. There are 2 playlists in my iPod for the countdown one is the "A List" this is a playlist that I play everyday where new and fresh music are. A song may remain on the said playlist for 3 months unless I grown tired of it or maybe I still really like it and want me to extend it. The next playlist is the "Mainstream" playlist. This playlist includes songs from "A List" plus the songs that finished their 3 month rotation. A song stays here for 6 months then it will be removed completely whatever chart position it is currently. A song after it's 3 month rotation is given three months to see how fast or slow it goes down the chart.
3. It's plays outside my "A List" playlist will determine it's longevity post rotation. So it's longevity after it's rotation will be done by me and people who borrow my ipod.
4. Just like Billboard, I count points. A song at number 1 will gain 40 points and so on and so on. Songs which are at numbers 41-50 will be given a point each.
I'm such a geek lmfao, I super love music that's why I do this!!. But I hope you enjoy my weekly top 40
I will be posting last year's year end chart now and then will start uploading January-May charts till the current!
