ATRL: Does this site have a mob mentality?

It seems like a lot of people on this site aren't open to discussion on certain political issues. And if someone's opinion on it is different from the masses, then they get called over-the-top and unfair things.

I'm not a Trump supporter or an alt-right person, but I think we can let them have their threads + opinions, right? Is it that big of a deal?

P.S., I notice that this site is also extremely racially sensitive for some reason. Most of you try to pretend that this site is full of white gay twinks, but I bet 50% of this site is probably not even white. Mess.

P.S.S. This thread getting closed will be the ultimate receipt that this site does have a mob mentality.

100% agreed. I love trolling around and posting more radical views than I hold for that precise reason, reading people's meltdowns is honey to my eyes.

Also, it isn't necessarily a "bad" thing to be a republican. I know plenty who are great people. I certainly don't agree with most of the **** they say but I get why they are saying it. Don't demonize them like some of them are doing to liberals.

Don't paint them all as racist rednecks, and they shouldn't paint liberals as whiny millennials / SJW's.

Exactly. The way that people get riled up is unbelievable. It's so easy to get an emotional reaction.

In a way. Every tread title that even mentions Trump gets closed almost immediately. I mean I don't like Trump and I don't think most people here do either obviously, but that doesn't mean we need to be so sensitive that we can't even discuss him. There has been threads in the past that are about Trump being ahead in the polls and they get closed. Being butt hurt and protesting by closing a thread doesn't change anything it just shows how thin skinned some people here can be.

This site doesn't have to be unbiased. If there are threads which don't meet the discourse they want to be displayed, they can close them. It is hosted on their servers after all.

It's the equivalent of a toddler covering his ears so he doesn't have to listen to his parents. You can't always shut out every opinion you don't like.

Just accept that some people don't think like you do. You can argue them respectfully. I encourage that. But silencing them is a surface-deep solution.
