Is the current US pop scene so lacking compared to the UK's?
Since 2008, the UK has put out: Jessie Ware, Emeli Sande, Katy B, Florence + the Machine, Ellie Goulding, AlunaGeorge, Adele, Marina and the Diamonds, Little Boots, among others.
The US got Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and...?

I think we're due for a new, fun pop girl.

British music has always been ahead. The US lags behind as usual.

HOPEFULLY people will see the mass potential in Bonnie McKee,
because if there is anyone known today who can do it, it's her.

Well, Rihanna is not American - but I guess the US see her as being part of the American pop hierarchy.

Quality>Quantity. Only 3 people on that list make decent music. Even though I prefer UK acts; Radiohead, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and etc. The UK does give us more quality musical acts than the US but the UK does give us more trash as well.
