What a weak argument. That would be like saying that Shakira would not important, if you were to take her out of Latin American charts. Also, note, that the North American markets are the biggest in the world and any 'World-wide' star would love to make it in the US (That is what gives them more power world-wide to begin with). Taylor is a world-wide star, end of story.

Compare US chart run with European ones, not saying it's bad, but...
