The charts, released at the company’s AGM earlier today, are compiled from music usage data from PPL's licensees across the UK: including radio stations and television channels as well as businesses such as pubs, clubs, bars, gyms and shops.

Topping the PPL pop chart was Happy by Pharrell Williams. Clean Bandit’s Rather Be was at No.2, followed by Ella Henderson’s Ghost, with Counting Starts by OneRepublic and All Of Me by John Legend rounding off the top five. Sam Smith’s Stay With Me, Roar by Katy Perry, Sing by Ed Sheeran, Rude by Magic! and Avicii’s Hey Brother made up the rest of the top 10.
