JGRN Playlist (01.08.2017-01.17.2017)
JURS (12.26.08) Paramore + Steven Smith visit
JGibson: Welcome to the 1st ever episode Justin's Untitled Rock Show, picking up where Steven's Untitled Rock Show on Fuse left off. In the JURS studio today, Hayley Williams and Steven Smith are in the studio. The format will be 9-12 videos, plus Rock 101 at the end. Steven Smith will be in the Studio any second now. But first, a video from HoneyHoney, called Little Toy Gun.
1 HoneyHoney "Little Toy Gun"
JGibson: That was HoneyHoney, with Little Toy Gun. Now in our studio, Steven Smith, the former host of SURS.
Steven Smith: Hi, JGibson. I see you're trying to carry on the show's legacy.
JGibson: Yes. And I hope Fuse pays the damn price for cancelling your show... but you still have The Weekly Riff to host.
Smith: I know a lot of people on the Fuse Message Boards and on the blogs are reacting very angrily about the cancellation... but this death knell started when they (Fuse) moved the show to 2PM EST/1PM CST/11AM PST-- which most teens/young adults are in school, college, or work.
JGibson: Fuse has gone downhill for at least the past year, but this one is the bull**** that hits the fan. Thank god Pants-Off Dance Off has been cancelled.
Smith: I want to thank the loyal viewers who watched my show from 2004 to the very bitter end. I am picking the next video plus Today's Rock 101, and it is The Cure, with Lovesong.
2 The Cure " Lovesong"
JGibson: Next video, Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event. Then a short break and more with Steven Smith.
3 The Airborne Toxic Event "Sometime Around Midnight"
---JGibson: We're back with more JURS.
Smith: Nice, as my favorite artists are up next for the next 2 vids, Brand New and The Smiths.
4 Brand New "The Quiet Things That No One Knows"
5 The Smiths "Asleep"
Smith: That was The Smiths, with Asleep.
JGibson: Well, I hope your next project goes good, and you'll be back for Rock 101 later. Plus... Paramore's Hayley Williams and the band stops by. My take on the cancellation: Crud. Another break.
---JGibson: We're back on: Next video, SafetySuit, Someone Like You.
6 SafetySuit "Someone Like You"
JGibson: Next up: Alkaline Trio, Help Me.
7 Alkaline Trio "Help Me"
JGibson: As you know, Tomorrow's guests, Panic At The Disco are stopping by. Anyway, here's Nine In The Afternoon by PATD.
8 Panic At The Disco "Nine In The Afternoon"
JGibson: After the Break, Paramore visits.
---JGibson: Now entering the JURS studio, Paramore, the champs of 15Rock and JRL.
Hayley Williams: Thanks to the fans who voted us at #1 on JRL and our dominance on 15Rock.
Josh Farro: Buy our album, Riot! and download songs.
JGibson: Introduce the next video, please, Hayley.
Williams: Here is our biggest hit and JRL and 15Rock's most days @#1 record-holder, Crushcrushcrush.
9 Paramore "Crushcrushcrush"
JGibson: Paramore is preparing for the performance of Decode backstage. But now, we have Weezer's Pork and Beans.
10 Weezer "Pork And Beans"
JGibson: Anberlin, Rock 101, and Paramore after the 30-sec break.
---JGibson: Anberlin's Feel Good Drag is up next. Rock 101 with Steven next.
11 Anberlin "Feel Good Drag"
JGibson: That was Anberlin. Now, over to Steven.
Smith: Today's Rock 101 comes from a band who appeared on the very show that made SURS' name permanent. If you've guessed The Used, you're wrong, it's Green Day, with Holiday.
-- JGibson: That was Rock 101, Paramore performing Decode in the JURS studio.
Williams: We ready to perform Decode for you viewers!!??
12 Paramore "Decode (Live)"
JGibson: Steven will be on Tonight's JRL. On Tomorrow's JURS: Panic At The Disco. Until then, you can drop a comment for Tomorrow's Viewer Mail segement.

JURS (12.27.08) PATD performs
JGibson: Yesterday on JURS... Paramore performed Decode and Steven Smith stopped by. All Commercials are for less than 45 seconds.
Today, Panic At The Disco visits and performs. Our first video, InnerPartySystem, Don't Stop.
1 InnerPartySystem "Don't Stop"
JGibson: Next up: 3OH!3, Don't Trust Me.
2 3OH!3 "Don't Trust Me"
3 The Maine "Everything I Ask For"
JGibson: That was The Maine, MTV's latest Discover and Download artist. Also, The Maine will be on next week. More videos coming up.
---JGibson: We're back. The St. Louis Blues won 3-2 over San Jose in the shootout. Go Blues! Anyways, the next video, The Offspring's latest video.
4 The Offspring "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid"
JGibson: That was The Offspring, with You're Gonna Go Far, Kid. Next up, Simple Plan's Your Love Is A Lie.
5 Simple Plan "Your Love Is A Lie"
JGibson: After this break, Staind's newest video premiere, and there's only one place to see it. Be back in 40 secs.
---JGibson: We're back to JURS. Well, this next Staind song has just been out on Modern and Active Rock radio stations... and it's not Believe, which retired on both 15Rock and JRL, was #1 twice on my rock countdown and peaked @#2 on JRL, #11 on VH1 Top 20, and was played a lot on Rock and Hot AC radios and Fuse. Now... the new Staind video, All I Want.
6 Staind "All I Want"
7 Atreyu "Falling Down"
JGibson: That was Atreyu's Falling Down, ranked number #3 on my Top 200 Songs of 2008.
Next, a video from Death Cab, and a performance from Panic after the break.
---JGibson: Panic At The Disco are backstage getting ready to be interviewed after this song by Death Cab For Cutie, I Will Possess Your Heart, which peaked @#11 on VH1 Top 20, #1 11 times on 15Rock, and shockingly got to #1 on JRL once. Of course it retired on both countdowns. Here's I Will Possess Your Heart, the full 8+-Minute version.
8 Death Cab For Cutie "I Will Possess Your Heart"
JGibson: After the long 8+ minute song, PATD is in the studio with us. They're ready to speak with us.
PATD: Hello. We are Fuse's Top 10favorite artists per the watchers.
JGibson: How did Fuse's community react when your video, Nine In The Afternoon, got snubbed completely?
PATD: They were VERY furious, and to them, Fuse is a rock channel. On top of that, Britney's cheat-caused victory over Paramore incensed them more.
JGibson: Fuse is going to pay for it. They just cancelled SURS. How do you feel?
PATD: It was boneheaded to cancel Fuse's main institution.
JGibson: Next video, Panic At The Disco, That Green Gentleman.
9 Panic At The Disco "That Green Gentleman"
---JGibson: We're back with PATD as guests.
PATD: We will be back later in the show with Rock 101 plus performance.
JGibson: See yous close to the end. Next, Metallica, All Nightmare Long.
10 Metallica "All Nightmare Long"
11 The Ting Tings "Shut Up and Let Me Go"
JGibson: That was The Ting Tings, with Shut Up and Let Me Go, which did well on JRL, peaking at #1 twice and retired, and was on for 1 week on VH1 Top 20 and a CC another week.
I'm more shocked that Alternative and/or Hot AC radio didn't pick this up. Next: Coldplay, Violet Hill.
Which did some damage on TRL, Rock Radio, did very well on JRL and 15Rock, and VH1 Top 20.
12 Coldplay "Violet Hill"
JGibson: Next, Rock 101, plus a performance from Panic. Next after a 30 sec-timeout.
---JGibson: Next video, Snow Patrol, Take Back The City.
13 Snow Patrol "Take Back The City"
JGibson: On to Rock 101, and it's from Panic's rivals, Fall Out Boy. The song, Dance, Dance, back in late 2005, in which it did well on TRL.
That was our Rock 101 video-- now, Panic performs their latest hit, Northern Downpour.
14 Panic At The Disco "Northern Downpour (Live)"
PATD: Vote for our video on all the countdowns at ATRL.net.
JGibson: Viewer mail time: From Billiejoe, here on ATRL, said: "Loved the performances today especially the last five." Another mail, from Andrea, in Lenexa, KS, said "You're picking up where Steven left off." Yet another mail, from Markus, in Decatur, IL, said this: "You're show is filled with the same **** that the Top 40 videos play."
Next week: Hollywood Undead, Kings Of Leon, Mixi, HoneyHoney, Slipknot, The Maine, and 3OH!3 are stopping by. See you Monday, when Mixi and The Maine stop by.

In the AFC, the Colts, Steelers, Titans, and Dolphins are favorites going in, although Baltimore's stingy defense and San Diego can crash the party. After the break, more videos and later... ---
JGibson: Now to our performance, Undead, by Hollywood Undead.
14 Hollywood Undead "Undead (Live)"
JGibson: Now, time for Viewer Mail: from Alvaro, in Arizona, "HU and 30H!3 are both good bands."
