I prefer Friday The 13th as a whole in sequels. Parts 1-8 are great. Nightmare only has the first film, 3, 4 and New Nightmare. All the other sequels suck.
Ughhhhh that's such a complex question lol. As a whole, ANOES is the winner. The first four Friday movies are great, but all of the sequels bring it down dramatically. ANOES has some lows for sure, but is at least somewhat consistent with the horror and dark humor.

I had every single one of those films as a kid, hell I even know the name of most of the actors because I was so obsessed with them, mainly because the acting is horrid/I only watched them for the messy death scenes.
It really is neck & neck. Nightmare's good ones were the original, 3 and New Nightmare. Friday the 13th has the first 4-5 which were good. So it does edge Nightmare out a little. I think Freddy as a character was much more terrifying as a kid because well...he haunts you in your sleep. I would say Nightmare > Friday but probably with a small margin ala Brexit result.
