Why is it Rihanna's albums don't sell impressively in the States.
LOUD sold more in the U.K than in the U.S, despite the U.S being a whole lot bigger market than the U.K
GGGB sold more than 8.5M WW, yet it hasn't gone 3X platinum in the States
Or UNAPOLOGETIC selling 4M WW yet it only went platinum in the U.S
What is the cause of this phenomenon, I mean yes she's very big in the U.S but why aren't her albums sales proportinal there to the rest of the world?
Is the music? The image? The strategy? Or is it because she's not a native/citizen of the U S considering it's only Adele and Rih who have been slaying the other immigrant pop girls in the U.S.

Keep it cute

A lot of music buyers in the US like to quickly get the latest Top 40 singles they like straight off of iTunes, and don't really care about albums. The US is pretty singles-oriented.

Because she is global not local

Because people aren't interested in her music that much, 13 #1's or not

She is an international act. So her sales in the US are amazing.

Only Adele and maybe coldplay do better.

She is a singles artist, like Katy. There's nothing wrong with that. She produces huge hits and people prefer to buy the songs individually.

Hasn't all of her albums got Platinum? I think she's doing pretty good. A lot of pop artists are struggling to sell more than 1 million copies in the USA. Rihanna is doing pretty good for a pop girl tbh.

She's just not a huge album.seller in the u.s thats it. Her singles make up for it and she sells both albums and singles WW so thats what matters. WW>local
