Pharrell Williams Tops Hot 100 For 10th Week, Iggy Azalea Vaults Into Top 10
Pharrell Williams' "Happy" crowns the Billboard Hot 100 for a 10th week, becoming one of just 28 songs to reach double-digit weeks at No. 1 in the chart's 55-year history. Plus, John Legend's "All of Me" ascends to No. 1 on Radio Songs and rap rookie Iggy Azalea sends her first Hot 100 chart entry, "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, into the top 10.
"Happy" continues its Hot 100 command fueled by its 11th week at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart, down by 24 percent to 208,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Happy" again ranks ahead of Legend's "All of Me" on the Hot 100, as the latter posts a sixth week at its No. 2 peak. The gap between the songs closes, however: as "Happy" drops by 13 percent in overall chart points while "Me" decreases by 4 percent, "Happy" tops the Hot 100 with 5 percent more points than "Me" after it led by 16 percent last week.
Katy Perry's "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, lifts 4-3 on the Hot 100, having led for four weeks before "Happy" began its domination. Follow-up "Birthday," meanwhile, blasts 83-37 with top Streaming and Airplay Gainer honors.
Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty," featuring 2 Chainz, regresses to No. 4 on the Hot 100 from its No. 3 peak, while DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" enters the top five (7-5).
As the soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen" notches a 12th week atop the Billboard 200, the album's "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel retreats to No. 6 from its No. 5 Hot 100 peak.
Iggy Azalea scores the Hot 100's lone new top 10 entry this week, as "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, rockets 18-7.
Bastille's "Pompeii" descends 6-8 on the Hot 100 (and tops Hot Rock Songs for an 11th week). It peaked at No. 5 for three weeks.
Justin Timberlake's "Not a Bad Thing" backtracks 8-9 but climbs 8-6 on Radio Songs (90 million, up 13 percent); 11-9 on Digital Songs (87,000, down 1 percent), marking his 15th top 10 on the sales tally; and 37-35 on Streaming Songs (2.1 million, up 11 percent).
Chris Brown's "Loyal," billed as featuring Lil Wayne and French Montana or Too $hort or Tyga, likewise slips a spot on the Hot 100 (9-10), but increases by 3 percent to 53 million and bullets again at No. 13 on Radio Songs.
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Pharrell's "Happy" spends an 11th week at No. 1 (208,000 downloads; down 24 percent), marking the second-longest run at No. 1 ever.
John Legend's "All of Me" is No. 2 (187,000; down 12 percent); Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty," featuring 2 Chainz, is No. 3 (145,000; down 27 percent); Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" is No. 4 (133,000; down 16 percent); and DJ Snake & Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" is No. 5 (131,000; up 10 percent).
Azalea's "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, climbs 12-6 (108,000; up 29 percent) with the chart's largest unit gain (up 25,000). Katy Perry's "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, is stationary at No. 7 (104,000; down 8 percent), and Luke Bryan's "Play It Again" rises 9-8 (96,000; down 8 percent).
Timberlake's "Not a Bad Thing" jumps 11-9 (87,000; down 1 percent), returning him to the top 10 for the first time as a lead artist since the June 15, 2013 chart.
Ed Sheeran's "Sing" rounds out the top 10, falling 8-10 with 80,000 (down 24 percent).
