Nicki Minaj ties Hot 100 Record
Quote:
With its 20th consecutive week in the top 10, all since its debut at No. 9 the week of March 3, "Starships," which has orbited between Nos. 10 and its No. 5 peak to-date, matches the mark for most uninterrupted weeks in the top 10 for a song that bowed in the region. The Black Eyed Peas first set the record with its 14-week No. 1 "I Gotta Feeling" in 2009.

With massive songs like WAY, STIUK, Call Me Maybe, etc, it had no chance!

Impressive
Does anyone know how long WFL was in the top 10? I would have assumed it'd be in that list since it was #1 for 10 weeks and that list lists songs that made it 15 weeks

Starships will probably break that record next week, considering it's at #8 and still has a lot of radio support.

This record is only for consecutive weeks in the top 10, maybe that's why!

It was in the top ten for more than 20 weeks, but it debuted at number 16. This list is probably for songs that never left the top ten.

I would assume it would have made it another 5 weeks total either before or after the #1 though...but I guess maybe not since it's not listed.
Either way I still bop to Starships all the time

Wow.
Everytime Starships breaks or matches a record, I still get a little shocked. I guess because I don't listen to radio too much anymore, I haven't quite grasped just how big the song is.
Go 'head, Nicki.
