It's time to introduce y'all to a very special man: Shayne Thomas Ward.
Sex symbol. Author. Actor. Vocalist extraordinaire. Shayne Ward took the UK by storm after winning the X Factor in 2005, when his debut single "That's My Goal" became the third biggest selling single of all time, just behind Elton John's "Candle In the Wind" and Will Young's "Evergreen". His single shot to the top spot in the UK and Ireland, and his follow-up release "No Promises" secured the #2 and #1 spot respectively.
However, his popularity wasn't to be confined to just Europe - Shayne took to launching himself in Asia as well. His self-titled debut album peaked at number one in Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and South Korea, as well as in South Africa. His massive popularity was met with an autobiography that detailed his rapid rise to fame.
Then in 2007, he returned to snatch a few more wigs for his shaven scalp. He released two singles simultaneously - "If That's OK With You" and "No U Hang Up" - and both tracks stormed up the charts - peaking at #2 in the UK and #1 and #11 in Ireland respectively. His next single - the title track off "Breathless", his second album - peaked at #6 in the UK and #2 in Ireland and was titled the UK's second greatest love song of all time.
He then went back to the studio to record his third album - "Obsession". Originally planned to be released in 2009, announcements that it would be pushed back were met with angry protests covered extensively by the media:
Controversy spread that Simon Cowell was deliberately sabotaging his career and was considering dropping Shayne despite his immense popularity. Shayne himself admitted to difficulties behind the scenes, and his now ex-manager, X-Factor judge Louis Walsh, exposed to the media that Cowell was indeed neglecting Shayne's career on purpose. But despite Cowell's best efforts to sabotage Ward's future, his next single, a radio-friendly remake of the rubbish Nickelback track "Gotta Be Somebody" amazingly peaked at #12 in the UK and #10 in Ireland.
Being the stubborn mule he was, Cowell dropped Ward regardless - his decision receiving much backlash from the public as well as the media. But as Simon's own shows flopped and turned into messy train-wrecks, Shayne found his next calling - acting, and secured a role in the hit musical Rock Of Ages, playing Stacee Jaxx, which is currently being met with rave reviews.
I invite you all to get into his heart-tearing ballads and infectious upbeat recordings, his mind-blowing vocals and uncanny good looks. Let's celebrate and appreciate one of the most underrated male vocalists of all time.
Shayne Ward is the greatest male artist to come from XFactor. Just saying. His music is flawfree and he has such an appeal. More people need to know him. Plus, I would do him into next week.

He's such a nice chap that he'd probably agree to that.
Wait, Simon sabotaged him and then gave him a place to perform on X Factor where if usually performing there, will get you a top 5 hit yet Shayne hovered outside the top 10. Sorry but he's just not that good. He should be a model/**** star though

Louis probably had to exchange sexual favours to get that slot, let's not be delusional. And you will NOT speak of Shayne like that.
I never see that pic before. Must be at a concert. :S
Who knows this game might catch on! And by the end of this my Shayne Ward pic collection will double. haha
