Formation on the other hand pissed the country off, caused multiple conversations about police brutality, black lives matter movement and women empowerment. It brought a lot of white racists to tears (Tomi Lahren and Rudy Giuliani, to name a few) and several news shows to discuss it. Its impact can be cleared seen through the comments on the several 2016 Top Lists it managed to top.
Whoever voted for the hit song just because it charted/sold much better, it's clearly delusional.
