The parts about the 'life growing inside her' and stuff come from the fact that the main character in the play is pregnant and wants to leave her boyfriend. (Oh, and she is a pie maker, which is why the chorus has the 'baked in a beautiful pie' part.) She's been performing it live since last summer. Here's a great live perf if anyone's interested.
