#1 Female artist: Will Taylor do it again?
So some stats for the calendar year show the following:
01 - 3,071,000 - FROZEN - Soundtrack ( 3,409,000 )
02 - 766,000 - BEYONCÉ - Beyoncé ( 2,068,000 )
03 - 744,000 - PURE HEROINE - Lorde ( 1,432,000 )
04 - 713,000 - THE OUTSIDERS - Eric Church ( 713,000 )
05 - 710,000 - GHOST STORIES - Coldplay ( 710,000 )
06 - 618,000 - NOW 50 - Various ( 618,000 )
07 - 606,000 - CRASH MY PARTY - Luke Bryan ( 2,128,000 )
08 - 572,000 - IN THE LONELY HOUR - Sam Smith ( 572,000 )
09 - 563,000 - JUST AS I AM - Brantley Gilbert ( 563,000 )
10 - 522,000 - PRISM - Katy Perry ( 1,491,000 )
100 - 132,000 - THE 1975 - 1975 ( 199,000 )[/quote]
Clearly Frozen ICED out the game and will be the #1 album of the year (calendar/billboard).
Looks like Taylor has another opportunity to swoop in with only 5 weeks and claim #1 female of the billboard year.
2008- #3 Fearless #1 female
2009-#4 Fearless #2 female
2010-#3 Speak now #1 solo female
2012-#2 Red #2 female
2014-#??? 1989
She has 5 weeks to sell around 800k...which she might do in 5 days...or will she?
But for the billboard year, will Taylor sell 2.1M in 5 weeks? or better yet 3M+
