Overall I don't think cultural appropriation is going out of hand, it's just that many people think it's harmless when it really isn't. It's ignorant and insensitive.
Yes! Its annoying that you can do anything without people throwing that term around. I love spreading culture. If an asian or black girl wants to do Flamenco (music or dance), I encourage it because i love people taking interest in my people's culture. But sadly not everyone thinks that way
People nowadays just wanna make sure even the smallest things are as problemactic as possible and it has come to the point where labeling yourself a SJW is nothing but making yourself looking like a joke nowadays.
As with anything else in the world, you have people who take things too far and will find everything offensive but I would never use those people as an excuse to completely write off cultural appropriation as something that is not an issue or doesn't exist.
