Although Britney Spears might be cycling into a new era with her career with “Work Bitch” and her upcoming Vegas residency, 16-year-old Lorde has only grown up with the “crazy Britney.”

Lorde says, “It was really interesting to me to read like the Rolling Stone article when she was like 17 and to get that story of her being this total sweetheart in America…which I find crazy.”

Britney’s great, but there might still be another more compelling train wreck in modern culture named Amanda Bynes.

“The whole world is just wanting to know what’s going to happen next,” Lorde explains. “You don’t even need TV. You can just go on Amanda Bynes’s twitter.”

Lorde might be a teen star herself, but for some reason we’re not worried that she’ll follow Britney or Amanda into a downward spiral. Maybe it’s because she’s already aware of their stories, or maybe it’s because she’s already exhibiting an uncommon amount of maturity on her debut album, Pure Heroine, which you can listen to exclusively on VH1.com.

This girl is seriously getting on my nerves. She needs to stop.

Besides, how has she only grown up with 'crazy' Britney? I've been a fan since I was 2 (I'm 17 now, so only one year older) and I remember her being America's Sweetheart even though I was tiny...

WIll she go diamond with her debut? Or will she only ever see that in the movies? I know she's 16, but she lacks humility, and she won't get far like that. Everything about her screams one hit wonder real bad. Thanks for the report though, I could've gone in on her but she aint worth my time
