I really dont know if Anti is a successful album. One minute people are saying that its doing well and the other minute they call it a flop. I'm really just trying to ask a simple question?
ANTi's sales are terrible, her fans are just doing what fans do and defending her any way they can but it's clear no one wants to buy this album. 500k in the US and 1 million WW is looking doubtful at this point. Ouch.
For Rihanna fans, no, it's not. They're grasping at anything they can at this point, even an album selling 17,000 copies despite having a #1 single.
Looking at the numbers, even with streaming, it's a complete bomb. Less than 300,000 pure sales and less than 700,000 sales with streaming added despite a #1 single. TRAGIC.
Not to mention how poorly the tour is doing. This era is bleeding money for everyone involved.
No, but it is an underperformance. The singles are going to be hits, but the performances of the album is underwhelming. Especially after such a long break and promotional tie ins with massive brands.

US: 295k (17k sold this week)
UK: 65k (sold less than 4k this week; no sales data due to low sales)
Japan: 12k (2k sold last week)
Hopefully the singles have longevity to make the overall stats for the album seem better. "Work" isn't an album selling type of song though, so with the release of "Kiss It Better" and "Love on the Brain", I could see the album selling a lot more.
It's an streaming monster. It would be nothing without streaming. Nobody cares about Rihanna, you only have to see her tour dates! They only care about listening to pseudomodernswag songs featuring Drake.
