Redbook started all this by asking Kaley if she was a feminist, which is a question you should never ask anyone. Kaley responded, "Is it bad if I say no?" before elaborating:
Quote:
It's not really something I think about. Things are different now, and I know a lot of the work that paved the way for women happened before I was around... I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that's because I've never really faced inequality.
Quote:
I cook for Ryan five nights a week: It makes me feel like a housewife; I love that. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but I like the idea of women taking care of their men. I'm so in control of my work that I like coming home and serving him. My mom was like that, so I think it kind of rubbed off.
Well good for her . She seems happy with her relationship/life in general and has a successful career, what more could you ask for? She's entitled to her opinion, but I just know she's gonna face backlash . I'm sure she supports equality, she was probably thinking about extremist feminism when she answered the question.
Is every woman supposed to be a feminist? Good for her
Yes of course they are.
Feminism simply is equality between the sexes. Why would a woman want to believe in the theory that women are below men and worth less?
Technically she can chose to believe that if she wants, but it really makes no sense if you have any sort of self-worth.

That doesn't mean you can't be a feminist
But whatever. Judging by the quotes she doesn't dislike the concept, she's just not actively involved in it.
At least she's not pretending to be one like most 'feminists' do And there's nothing wrong with what she said.
She really didn't say anything bad, but she also didn't say anything good either. She just kind of shrugged off a huge and major issue because it didn't really apply to her.
So because she hasnt faced inequality it means others havent either. This attitude of I can only relate if Im in the other people's shoes has got to stop. Maybe she needs to understand that just because she doesnt believe she's faced discrimination, that doesnt negate the data that show women as a whole have been discriminated against. She needs to educate herself.

It does show stunning and willful ignorance from someone who should know better.
wow...girl you are a feminist if you believe women should be paid equally and stuff...why are woman so scared of just saying "yes im a feminist..but not anti man" its simple
This is embarrassing
Even if you're happy with your life shouldn't you sympathise with women who aren't as lucky as you? Women who are in abusive relationships or get raped or live in oppressive regimes where they are forbidden to get an education? Trans women, black women, muslim women who don't have the privileges you do?
What a selfish viewpoint & it's obvious she's as dumb as her character on that trash show
