Saturday, July 9th, 2011 Vol. IV, Ed. II official update Welcome to Psychobabble! This is my first official update, the first of many, that will take place on Saturdays or Sundays, whichever day I have more time. With three new debuts this week, and a new number one that could hold down the number one spot for the entire summer, competition is heating up for Psychobabble's #1 summer song. Psychobabble all upon your lips...

Gold HOT SHOT DEBUT
Commentary; This week, we have three fall-offs; Ooh La La Goldfrapp (Peak: bubbing under, Weeks: 1), Mr Saxobeat Alexandra Stan (Peak: bubbling under, Weeks: 1), and Call Your Girlfriend Robyn (Peak: 20, Weeks: 1). Also, there are three debuts this week; Good Life OneRepublic (bubbling under), Swagger Jagger Cher Lloyd (13), and Disco, Blisters & A Comedown Nicola Roberts (1). With only two days in the charting week, Nicola snags not only Hot Shot Debut, and Greatest Gainer, she snags the #1 spot away from Beat Of My Drum. Otherwise, the chart remains rather calm, the greatest loser this week is Iko Iko by the Belle Stars. It was bolstered to the top tier after I watched Rain Man (the first movie it was featured in) and the Hangover (another movie it was in). With Nicola blasting her way to the top two on the chart, dont expect that reign to let up anytime soon.

@Charlie yes, I think I will be giving Goldfrapp another check this week. And I agree, CKB is good, but I have had that song for quite a while.

@Matthew815 Thanks
@Under My Skin Yeah, I do like some singles, but my music taste is very spontaneous, and I have no problem charting older songs (RAWH, Iko Iko, Eyes On Fire) because they are truly my favorite songs right now. Thanks for the support.
Rules, Certification Guide and Chart Key
Rules:
1. A song can debut anywhere.
2. A song can spend only 3 consecutive weeks in bubbling under, then it gets kicked off. However, it can return anywhere on the chart the next week.
3. A song cannot be on the bubbling under chart if it has over 30 weeks on the chart. If it falls below 20 it is just removed.
4. A song must stop in bubbling under before it leaves the chart if it has less than 30 weeks.
5. A song doesn't have to stop in bubbling under to debut.
6. A song can be retired if it is certified diamond, or if it spends 60/40/12 weeks in the top 20/10/1. OR if it does two of the following; over 20 weeks in the top ten, over 40 weeks on the chart, over 8 weeks at #1, or certified 6x Platinum. A song can still chart even though it is retired.
