Empire is an upcoming musical drama television series about a music empire. The hip-hop family drama project from Lee Daniels and Danny Strong received a series order from the Fox network on May 6, 2014. Stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Gabourey Sidibe filmed the pilot in Chicago in March 2014. The series will premiere in spring 2015.

Just finished the first episode. Oh my god. This is sooooooooooo good. A great primetime soap in the vain of Dallas and Dynasty, but oh so different.

Looks like it's going to be a good show, but so far based on the trailer I noticed a similar storyline to 50 cent's "Power" on Starz
