The BBC has announced that its Playlister music tagging service will be available in beta from today (October 9).
Users on the web and mobile will be able to tag any song they hear on BBC Radio and save it in playlists for future reference.
BBC Playlister also serves users recommended content based on their listening habits, and lets them export the playlists they compile to partner services including Spotify, Deezer and YouTube.
Subscribers can discover recommended tracks from BBC DJs, presenters and programmes as well.
"Audiences want an easy way to find out and remember the music they hear on our programmes and to get good music recommendations," said BBC controller for multi-platform radio and music Mark Friend.
"Playlister presents a huge creative opportunity, not just to the audience, but also to us the programme-makers."
Users can try out the beta version of BBC Playlister by registering on the service's website.
