What kind of music do they make?: Post-Punk, Singer/Songwriter, Alternative Rock, Punk Blues, Art Rock, Gothic Rock [PJ Harvey fans would be into it]
What should I check out from them?: Well, they have one of the greatest discographies, ever. So it's hard to pick one. You can follow this flowchart or, my personal suggestion just go in order and see the progression. Personally think it picks up around Your Funeral... My Trial and then sky's the limit.
Recently i got into Koop, they make experimental acid-jazz ( Thats a genre ,I am not kidding)
This song by them was featured in a coca-cola ad and that's how discovered them
This is more of an uptempo song. I came across this song during a culture festival in my uni and I was kind of slayed by this song - it has cultural sound infused with modern beats. I think the song is from South East Asia.
@ 3:10 sounds very ghostly and eerie, and I absolutely love it. And the intro gives me life!
I'm gonna have to come back and do some serious listening because I'm on mobile right now.
I will say I've been pretty into jazz recently. I recently listened to Jumgle Soul by Lonnie Smith and Dance Manie Vol. 1 by Tito Puente and was pretty slayed

I'm not sure if other people will like her style of music but it's generally a mix of Abstract, Indie and Folk. Her music generally has very "dream-like" lyrics and music and some songs can be disturbing but I think that's part of what I love about her music.
