I just saw Smashed last weekend and want Mary Elizabeth Winstead to be nominated so bad but everyone is ignoring her film
She definitely had one of the standout performances of the year for me.

If there's any semblance of recognition of talent by the Academy (and these days there's few examples of such), Marion Cotillard will be winning Best Actress this year.

Also, MEW should be getting a nod, along with that girl from Beasts of the Southern Wild.
I suspect Argo or The Master will be taking home Best Director and Picture.
Daniel Day-Lewis will likely win his third (!) Oscar for Lincoln.
Michael Fassbender will surprise everyone with a nod for BSA for his role in Prometheus.
Other than that, it's really a big ol toss up. The Oscars bore me now

I'm rooting for Q. Wallis for Beasts of the Southern Wild and Logan Lerman for Perks of Being A Wallflower, but Lerman won't get nominated and Wallis will lose to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook.
Best Picture will probably go to Les Miserables, but Best Director will go to Steven Shitberg for Lincoln or Ben Affleck for Argo.
Anne Hathaway will win BSA for Les Miz, and Hoffman will win for The Master.
Bank on it.

It's getting mixed reviews so it will probably be confined to tech noms. I can see it going home with a sole award for makeup, Life of Pi has visual effects.
