For those who are not familiar with College Basketball in America, there is a big tournament every year called "March Madness" that generates huge attention across the nation. This event has a bracket that aligns teams who have been considered the 64 best teams the nation has to offer, and they play off one by one until only one team is declared the winner.
ATRL will hosting it's third year of December Madness starting December 1st. This years co-host will be ATRL legend Duca, replacing 2010 winner GeezusHaberdash. I and a few other members have compiled a list of 64 members who we have feel were major contributors to ATRL this year and then placed them in one of the four categories we decided to use this year. The same committee that selects people for the tournament also decides how people are seeded and where they play. As you learned earlier, the field of people is divided into four categorical regions.
Each region has people that are assigned a seed number of 1 through 16, with the most popular member in the region awarded the No. 1 seed down to No. 16 being the most unpopular member of the 16 in question. Traditionally, the highest seeds (Nos. 1 through 8) have enjoyed more success than the lower seeds (Nos. 9 through 16). The lower seeds represent potential "Cinderella Stories" of the tournament. A Cinderella Story is a person that unexpectedly achieves success in the tournament. Traditionally, Cinderella's chariot turns back into a pumpkin before getting to the Final Four. Each round, several members will go up against one another. The objective of the game is to obtain more votes than your opponent in order to advance. The last man standing will be declared the winner!
