I don't think it's racist at all, it would be racist if he thought less of that person for being Asian, but he doesn't. People make jokes about gays/blondes etc all the time, it's harmless. He's hilarious and he always makes those kinds of jokes, even about himself, he's known for it and I love it

As if
I'm not even Asian but the smug look on his face after he says it and how he thinks it's so funny is simply enraging

But it was the DEFINITION OF FUNNY. To me racism is thinking less/wishing harm/doing harm to people of other races, nothing else, especially not making a joke... People who call racism for every joke that is made are just butthurt if you ask me... No one is on the fence when people make a joke about blondes or ask you what a canary bird and gays have in common and the answer is **** on their stick, I mean

Well I mean... your opinion isn't surprising - you're from the country in which this video originates, and it seems like nobody else in that room thought anything bad of it either. Apparently racism is quite common in Holland.
Do you think it would fly if it were a black contestant and the smug white judge was making uncalled for jokes about babymamas and foodstamps?

Yes, he makes a lot of those jokes to black people and what you would consider trailer trash and it's always hilarious, hell, even black people here know how to make fun of themselves, it's called being able to put things into perspective. You know when something is meant in a hurtful or a funny way. Again, THAT is not racism...

I'm sorry but this is blatantly racist. WTF is with the "no 39 w rice" comment and "that's ok?". So being Chinese is not OK?

Girl, stop.
Racism is racism. It doesn't matter how funny or lighthearted it is. The person telling the joke may not be racist, but a racist joke is a racist joke. And apparently he wasn't that funny, as the other judges were clearly uncomfortable while he was telling them.

Hey, it's that guy from So You Think You Can Dance.
See, the problem with jokes like that is that those thoughts are present in the speaker's mind, but are played off as jokes. If the speaker weren't racist, those thoughts wouldn't have entered his mind at all.
And that applies to all degrading jokes.

Wow, every time he spoke he joked continuously regarding his race. The fact that he said something every time he spoke is a bit too much and clearly shows the jokes were driven by his racism.

Well then he's a proud racist, simple as that.
I'd like to point out that gays and blondes are not races. When you overdo demeaning gay jokes like this guy did with race jokes, you're called homophobic.

I think the 'that's ok' part was poorly translated into Dutch, i just think she expected something that would be a lot harder to pronounce tbh

I think the that's ok comment was just her not speaking english so well, but OMG the 39 with fried rice and the best chinese I've had in weeks were way out of line and completely inappropriate, I wonder if this video will blow up and he'll get fired or something.

So am I, so I don't get what dyou're not understanding... there was nothing wrong with the 'that's ok' comment, you are just looking for racism there... The Dutch subtitle did make it rude though.... What's wrong with saying that's ok? It would be my response if I was expecting some long ass name I couldn't pronounce and it's that short and easy to pronounce + she could easily mean that she had enough info and he could start, not even referring to the name, just like 'ok, fine, we're done, you can start', English isn't her first language, I mean..

Get fired? You are clearly not familiar with our culture.. he's in 5 different tv shows/programmes a week because of these jokes... Shows with him and his rude jokes get one of the highest ratings in The Netherlands Channels basically fight who gets to put him under contract

So does the fact that the "that's ok" could be interpreted as rude/mildly racist in English, and was even translated into the Dutch subtitles as rude, not add validity to the fact that it was rude??
