Also from the gameplay I saw on the Neogaf thread, it seems digivolution will be akin to Rumble Arena 1 (warp straight to Mega) rather than Rumble Arena 2's system, the latter of which I prefer.
It being set on a 3D field looks less appealing than the 2D nature of previous games as well.
... Though if purchasing this increases the chances of Digimon Cyber Sleuth and Re: Digitize Decode getting localised then I might as well spend the coins tbh.

Namco are extremely fond of DLC, even for their flop games. We will have up to 36 forms.
Most games like this only have around 30 (Super Smash has 36) on their roster. So naturally, with each Digimon it's equivalent to 3 characters each.
& No. There are Mega's and Ultimates. You first Digivolve to Ultimate and train to go to Mega.
You do skip Champion though (but Champion's suck anyway).
This game is basically Namco's way of seeing if Digimon will still sell in the West. They chose the most popular game from last-gen (RA2) and if this doesn't sell, Cyber Sleuth won't in their eyes.
So even if you're not 100% keen, if you want the others, you need to support this aha.
