Since the influx of School threads are happening, this is back-to-school time, and I find this interesting what college recommendations do you have?
Such as:
-- Classes to take / NOT take.
-- Universities to go to / not go to.
-- Tips for classes / assignments / finals / etc.
-- Sites that could come in handy (no textbook download like sites tho, so you don't get warned).
-- etc, etc.
Begin.

-College Confidential will make you hate yourself. Use with caution.
-Don't be afraid to double major/get minors. Especially if you're passionate about it.
-NEVER buy textbooks before the first week of classes. Sometimes professors will tell you older versions you can use and you can save a decent amount of money.
-Don't be afraid to talk to professors/advisors about research or internships. Apply for every bit of exposure to your field you can get. If you don't get it, you at least gain experience with resumes, interviews, ect.

Let me give you some advice.
If your school has core/distribution courses, GET THOSE BASTARDS OVER WITH!!
You do not want to be stuck when you change your major and you have a lot of classes that don't count towards your major, making you stuck with new requirements as well as those core requirements.

iHype., I can specifically help you out since you're from Georgia, and I've been through the whole system in Georgia (since I've lived here all my life and go to Georgia Tech now), so if you need ANY tips about applications, where to apply, what you might be looking for and where to go, I can help you out
But go to Georgia Tech because it's an awesome school filled with diversity

And y'all try to take at least 15 credits per semester. you do not want to have to make it up via summer school and/or by taking 18 credits ( )

This is the thread I needed tbh. I'm between two choices right now American Studies vs. French Language & Literature. Which one would you choose and why?

All of this, but ESPECIALLY the top one if you're applying. A lot of the College Confidential members give mostly correct answers, but the way that they formulate them is a major deterrent. Ironically, when I posted my stats and where I was applying to, they got almost all of the results correct

Okay, so what's the deal w/ the whole common thing 2 year community then graduating with 2 year state degree. Like it seems simple, logical, and alladat but if it really is why isn't everyone doing it?
Like I feel like there's a kick to it.

Thinges I learned during Freshman Year:
-Take classes that actually interested you.
-Go to said classes. This isn't a game. If you miss enough classes your grade will suffer.
- Also, if you're not a morning person don't waste your time taking morning classes, 8/10 you won't wake up or you'll constantly be late.
-Rate My Professor is LOVE. Rate My Professor is LIFE.
-Studying all night in terms library won't make you smarter, hihi.
-Get on good terms with professors you may want to take in the future. If a class you want to take with them is full, they can squeeze you in.
-Pay attention to your Syllabus. Put important deadlines/assignments on your calendar/in your phone.
-Organization is key, I laughed this off first semester and I regret it.
-NEVER buy textbooks from the book store, always check Amazon and Chegg.
-Don't buy your textbooks before you've day sat in the class at least once. If you end up dropping the class, you've wasted unnecessary money.
Hm, that's all I can think of when it comes to academics.

True. And for some people it looks embarrassing and etc. but it works for some people and where you graduate is the most important. No need to be embarrassed tbh. More money for you!
Edit: There's a thread for this already
