American pop star Katy Perry has recently come under fire for reportedly taking a pro-blackface stance in her latest music video, for album track "Birthday".
In the video, which depicts Perry in various zany costumes (including a stereotypical Jewish man and a Betty White-esque old woman), the vocalist is seen painting a young girl's face with brown paint in an effort to dress her up in blackface.
Although Perry's camp declined to comment, a cryptic tweet from the "International Smile" singer's manager, Bradford Cobb, has drawn attention as possibly being about the incident: "I think blackface is hilarious y'all"
