In general. The US Market is shrinking. Albums are down by over 10% and digital sales have stagnated. The digital Market is not growing as fast as it once was, they need to cut prices or do something to boost sales.
As you said pricing I think is a major fact. People say the 0.30 cent raise is NOTHING, but essentially it is. I also think this year in new music just wasn't...anything to expect a rise in the US at least.

The price needs to be lowered back down to $0.99. That extra $0.30 per song really adds up over time
