Lady Gaga and Beyoncé earn the most money, whereas Katy Perry and Rihanna have the most chart success.

And, quite frankly, I'm okay with that.

* Beyonce's recent song choices aren't very radio friendly. I think she could easily secure a songwriter and producer who could craft an easy chart-topper if she wanted to, so I just think she's trying to make a riskier song become a hit.

* Gaga's promotion is leading to diminishing returns and perhaps she's employing tactics that once worked, but now no longer work. I kind of feel bad for her, because she puts so much effort into her promotional strategy, even for mundane things like exiting a hotel, and yet it doesn't pay off in the way that it typically should.

LOL, What Now is a absolute flop. My Rih only gets success with the two first singles in every era. The only one who has a consistent success is Katy.
Answering your question, I think they're falling just because people don't like their music, that's all. Beyonce and GaGa sing like Goddess and the music they give us is not bad so, I don't think it's about bad quality music or bad material.

Pop is dynamic. It can change in an instant for better or worse. i.e. Born This Way --> ARTPOP and 19 ---> 21
ARTPOP and 4 were their first "flop" albums, so until they have a couple flop albums, I wouldn't count them out.


P.S. I know I can't really say ARTPOP is a "flop" yet, but I guess first week and lukewarm single success.

Their annoying stans have jinxed them....Just kidding just kidding. I think Beyonce just released an album that wasn't apart of the current landscape (4) which saw a decline in sales, and the GP have just had enough of Gaga. She was truly a fad.

Because Gaga and Beyonce are paralyzed by fear. Both their previous albums underperphormed, and now they don't have the compos mentis to actually release something up 2 par.

Beyonce is so dead afraid of having a no-hits album again that she's delayed it indefinitely, blowing a deal with pepsi and a superbowl-spot on a non-existent era with no new material, even going as far as to tour with no new material. She even chopped off her hair- a clear cry for help.

We're already 3 months into the Artpop era and Gaga's already showing signs that she's on the verge of mental collapse. The jigsaw pieces of her era are completely jumbled; she had 2 years out of the spotlight to meticulously plan her comeback, yet the era is already completely being played by ear, with no real sense of direction (something which the album lacks as well). She can't handle any of the criticism coming her way and she clearly feels gutted by her first week sales. The cracks are showing.

Katy and Rih are on top simply because they have hit writers and producers doing all the leg-work for them- Katy just shows up @ places and acts ditzy, while Rih posts pics of herself blowing smoke on instagram to keep her fans moist. It's not like these two deserve praise. At the very least, Bey and Gaga are pushing themselves.

The impact of telephone.

Beyonce hasn't released an album in 2 1/2 years. And her last album "flopped" because of terrible single choices to start that hurt the potential of the single worthy songs later on.

Beyonce is hardly falling behind.
