Based on the comments by Mark Ronson, the seemingly main producer of the album, Gaga seems to be taking a mature route for her upcoming music. She herself said during the billboard woman of the year video that she wants to write about more meaningful life experiences. Mark said that the record will be very honest. The iheartradio preview said she played songs about relationship struggles and her aunt that passed away a long time ago.
Sonically, Mark said it's going to be a sort of analogue record (away from the digital sound that Gaga has been chasing throughout her career). She has often been seen with guitars and pianos in and out of the studio. Her impromptu performances have been strictly ballads and oldschool guitar-y music.
Does this mean the days of "sledgehammering beats" and club anthems have given way to a more soulful, meaningful and emotional record that has potential to be a classic (think 21, 25 and Amy's discography).
