Welcome to ATRL's newest countdown done by yours truly. In this countdown we will be looking at my weekly Top 10 albums and songs as well as 'photo-featuring' the artist of the week so to call it. Sales are determined by how much I've liked an album/song that week, with 500.000 sales being a Gold certification for said album or song, 1.000.000 sales is platinum, 10.000.000 sales is diamond etc... (basically the RIAA certification system) so let's get started, shall we?
P.S. A song can only get a certification once it charts, therefore a song could have sales of 10,000,000 but as long as it stays under the Bubbling Under it will NOT be certified





Our current artist of the week is a tie between Jay-Z and Kanye West as both have received 102 plays with their duo-album Watch The Throne.

As for the Top 10 albums this week, West and Carter's Watch The Throne becomes the very first #1 album of these charts with a total of 1.020.000 sales granting it an immediate Platinum certification. The #2 album this week is a certain Kiwi songstress' debut album, Pure Heroine. The album receives 640.000 sales this week placing it at #2 with a comfortable lead over the #3, which is Lady Gaga's The Fame (Monster). Gaga's 'Monster' receives 380.000 sales this week fueled heavily by her debut single Just Dance which places itself at #7 on our Top 10 songs chart. As for song sales this week, Lorde's Everybody Wants To Rule The World (or in the future referenced as EWTRTW) gains 280.000 sales placing it as this weeks #1. #2 is a tie between two Mariah Carey songs, We Belong Together and You're Mine (Eternal). Together gains its 210.000 sales solely from the song itself while Mine gains 200.000 of its sales due to the song itself and 10.000 sales from a dance remix. As both songs gain 210.000 sales this week, both songs will debut at #2 because there are no billboard rules here changing every few weeks. For the rest of the Top 10 check out the list below:

Welcome back to Slayley's Top 10 albums and songs of the week ending July 6th. Thank you for looking at my personal charts as well as a massive thank you if you comment on it


The current Artists of the Week is none other than Lorde. She beats out her closest contestant, Mariah Carey, by 32 plays. Despite Carey charting 4 albums this week, her plays just weren't enough to beat out the reigning Queen's 175 plays. Lorde was close to being our Artist of the Week last week when she lost to Jay-Z & Kanye West by 10 plays.

As for the Top 10 albums this week, Lorde crowns that as well gaining 1,580,000 in sales placing her at #1 with a 65,2% lead over the #2 this week. The #2 this week is none other than Mariah Carey's newest album Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse. 'Chanteuse' gains another 550,000 copies as well as rising 4 places to #2. Rounding out our Top 3 is Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster. 'Monster' receives 500,000 in sales, a 31,6% increase from last week, however it remains perched at #3. As for song sales this week, Lorde manages to snatch the Top 2 spots with her songs Team and No Better debuting at #1 and #2 respectively. Team manages to receive 510.000 in sales, while No Better gains 370.000 in sales. As for the #3 this week, it's the 2nd single from Lady Gaga's debut album 'The Fame Monster'. The song, Paparazzi, debuts with sales of 260.000 placing it at a tied #3 slot with Katy Perry's Dark Horse. 'Horse' comes from Perry's PRISM which debuts at #8 on our albums chart this week.
