This countdown is a compilation I've been doing for my statistics class but I was too lazy to post before. What you are about to see are numbers coming from the 30 women in the picture above.
All of those numbers are from 2008 to 2012. Why? cause music industry has changed a lot in the last 10 years, but the last 5 years doesn't have huge changes.
There will be 5 categories: Albums sold, Awards won, Critical acclaim, Singles' success, Social networks power and Touring gross.
More Info
- Albums: The albums they have sold worldwide according to MediaTraffic, in some cases they will be U.S. + U.K. sales instead of MediaTraffic's when albums charting was unusual. I didn't included soundtrack albums since they usually have more than just one lead artist.
- Awards: The awards they have won from the most importants award shows: American Music Awards, Brit Awards, Grammy Awards, Europe Music Awards and Video Music Awards. Grammy awards will count as two regular awards since they are the most prostigious and "hard" to win.
- Critical acclaim: The Metacritic average score for the albums they released. Compilations and remixes not included since they may upgrade or downgrade the real average.
- Singles: The points that their songs have made in MediaTraffic. For your informations, points =/= sales, they are a mix made of sales and airplay, so the numbers you'll se are lower than actual sales. Collaborations will not be included at least the woman is the only vocalist on it (Who's That Chick, Turn Me On, etc).
- Social networks: A mix between their Facebook likes and Twitter followers.
- Tours: Total gross of their tours according to Pollstar and Billboard. In some cases approximations will be made since some of the tours don't have official receipts.
Each category will contain numbers from thoose 30 women, and each one of them will win some points acording to their success, for example:

Points for each category will be added and the result will determinate the positions on the ranking. I will start with #30 in some minutes.
