Katy had two huge hits this era, which I think it's safe to say it will be the only top 10 singles in the era, in my opinion. But my point is that the album has no impact, it hasn't even sold 3,5 million copies with a huge tour and huge promotion. I think people overestimated Katy's power on the charts here on ATRL. Why can't she sell albums like Pink and Bruno Mars? What is your take on this?
Like is said in the other thread:
"oh god like her tickets are all sold out and she sold like 10M albums
I cant at people being happy with that cheap era Gaga flopped but that's the only reason Katy looks like a success, Because she won over Gaga!!1!1 Prism has like no impact and its not even a good era."
She's past her peak (Teenage Dream), that much is obvious, but she still had major draw from Roar and Dark Horse. I think the impact from albums are far and few now, and the shift towards the impact from singles is more prevalent than ever.
She's probably never going to have the hot streak of singles she had before, but to say she has absolutely no impact is a bit silly to say the least.
It's still selling and she's only had one 1.5 tour legs, plus her tour numbers have been great so far the fact that it spawned two huge hits is something other pop girls have struggled to do for awhile. Not sure what kind of impact you're looking for. Awards season is a ways away but she's sure to make an impact there (just like she already did with her 2 nominations for Roar).
