Hello, All. Everyday, I will be counting down my top 10 favorite albums, singles, videos, artists and ATRLers of the year. 2011 pretty much sucked for me, but at least the music was good.

I already made a Best of 2011 thread, but then I didn't know that we were supposed to make countdowns. #oops. This is my second.

Rihanna - "Talk That Talk"



'Talk That Talk' is Rihanna's sixth album. It debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and was released on November 21, 2011. 'Talk That Talk' is full of fun, sexually charged, club bangers. However, the best track is one of the few ballads on the album. 'We All Want Love' is a mid-tempo guitar-driven song about being lonely and longing for a companion. It kind of reminds me of the 1960's and 1970's counterculture. When I listen to this song, I can't help but think about pot-headed hippies protesting the Vietnam War, for some reason. I am also in love with .Farewell'. Such a heartfelt song. I can imagine a music video where Rihanna is married and has a family and lives in a poor town in Barbados. But, her husband is moving to America to set up a new life for them and Rih is not happy with him leaving. That would just be..... 'We Found Love', the lead single and Rihanna's 11th #1 (son-of-a-bitch) makes me want to get up and dance. You know that thing Beyonce does at the beginning of her 'End of Time' performances where she is almost hunched over with arms spread out and she's kicking her leg around in the circle?

Anyway, TTT is a decent Pop album, but not Robyn's best. That title still goes to 2009's 'Rated R'.

"Someone Like You" is the 2nd single off of Adele's 2nd album, '21'. This is Adele's 2nd #1 single in a row, also (son-of-a-bitch). 'Someone Like You' is a quiet, down-tempo, piano-accompanied ballad about losing out. Ladies, are you still pissed that your ex left you for that other bitch? Are you resolved to find someone like him, but 10 times better? This is the song for you.

I'm still amazed at the fact that this song became a smash hit. It's not bubblegum pop, electronic or sang by a skinny bitch who performs half-naked. I commend Ms. Adkins for that.
