So it's obvious how we, on this board who are obviously loyal to certain other artists, perceive certain artists, but how does the general public perceive them who tend to be more unbiased and less critical? Afterall, we didn't have online forums when past legends cemented their places in history. They earned that title by general consensus + their career accomplishments. Online, we tend to nitpick at artists for what they do and don't do, but in reality does the average person really give a damn?

So, if it doesn't kill you, if it isn't too hard, try to be unbiased for once and let's discuss how each popstar is viewed in the public eye. No, oh everybody is tired of seeing that bitch with the same stale ass blonde weave or she's a hoe and has ****ed everybody in the industry.

I think Rihanna is mostly known as a consistent hit maker.
Whenever my friend (who is not a music fan in any sense) hears a new Rihanna song he always says something like "everything this girl touches becomes a hit".

She is a hit making machine and she hardly ever misses. (CKB performed poorly, but Man Down was a smash around the world).

She is not an "in your face" type of girl and that works very well for her, cos she doesn't annoy people with excessive overexposure like some others do (you all know who).

I think she's perceived really well actually. Much different then to online, my mother loved the WFL video and was singing the song last week. and called her really talented.

At my college, i've heard a lot of people playing rihanna songs and talking about her, moreso than anyone discussed on this forum.

Rihanna is like easily THE coolest female pop star out there now tbh.

And as i said before nobody give a single **** about sales or live performing, they r Only there for good music to pop their ******* to.

I honestly haven't heard anyone really mention rihanna getting beaten by chris brown when bringing her up, so i find it a bit interesting so many people say people say that the general public think of her as 'the girl that got beaten by chris brown'.
