Discussion: Biggest Female Artists Of Last 30 Years (US) [Finished]

1) This countdown ranks the best performing female artists of the last 30 years (US). There were some valid complaints about the methodology in my last countdown, so I redid the ranking with a new methodology. To not make it redundant to the last one, I incorporated singles receipts as well. So the ranking changed a lot.
2) Album sales have decreased a lot and singles sales have increased a lot compared to the past. It wouldn't be fair or accurate to add together sales and rank artists based on that. However we can compare how well albums and singles did compared to their competition at the time, because competition will always be there regardless of market.
3) This countdown will look at the top 100 albums/singles of each year, and assign points to artists for each YEC entry.
4) Unlike last time, this countdown uses a point system that more accurately reflects that position's sales/success. The methodology is posted here. The inverse point system (i.e.: #1 year-end album/song = 100 points, #2 = 99 points.. #100 = 1 point) that was used last time wasn't proportionate to the actual sales/success of that position. Two #51 albums/songs would equal one #1 year-end album/song when that is never the case, and a #100 album/song would earn only 1/100th of the #1 album/song even though it sells way more than that.
5) The artists will be ranked based on their Total Score. Total Score = Album Score+Single Score/2.
6) Only solo females and groups with only female vocals are considered. E.g.: No Doubt are in, The Fugees are not.
7) If an artist has multiple entries under different artist names, they will count as seperate artists unless the artist's name is in the name of both acts. E.g.: Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus will count as seperate acts, while Selena Gomez and Selena Gomez + The Scene will count as one.
