So Meghan Trainor's new smash hit song made me think about this: is it nowadays OK to be fat? With obesity/overweight rates rising sky high all over the world, it seems to me that people don't care as much about weight as they did ten years ago. Are we taking baby steps to be the point of living in a world where there's no such thing as ''fat people'' anymore?
Imho, I don't really care what you look like or how much you weigh, I just feel strong towards the fact that people need to take care of themselves and their health. Your body is your own temple and you should treat it like one. Having no limits when it comes to stuffing yourself with unhealthy foods is not a good look. It's all about control & fine balance. Your body NEEDS healthy food and exercise is mandatory as well.
1. Meghan isn't saying it's ok to be fat. She is saying you should be comfortable.
2. Not if you can do something about it. But you should strive, to be a healthy weight. Fat shaming needs to be stopped because there is multiple reasons why someone could get to that point.
If a person is like 20 pounds overweight it's not a huge deal but once you're 100+ pounds overweight then I don't think it's alright and a person shouldn't be happy that way because it's unhealthy and makes it difficult to accommodate their large size wherever they go.
Of course not everyone is supposed to be skinny... and you can still be thick without being morbidly obese
I personally would not want to be """fat""" because of the health issues that come along with it
But It's never my place to judge or shame those who are because that's unnecessary and not a constructive way of helping them

I didn't say Meghan said it's ok to be fat. I merely stated the fact that the song made me think about fat shaming and being fat in general.
It depends on the situation. If you're fat because you drink Mountain Dew and sit in front of a computer all day, then no. But if you are active and 50 pounds overweight and it isn't because of an unhealthy lifestyle but genetics (I genuinely know a few people who eat healthy and exercise and they are larger) then I see no problem with it.
