Despite nearly all previous opinion polls predicting that Scotland will vote against independence on the 18th September, the most recent one has a pro-independence lead of 2%. This has shocked Westminster severely, and UK politicians are now panicking they may lose Scotland.
Why are people so against independence for the Scots? It will benefit both England and Scotland.
Because people don't want to see a country like the UK split up.
Scotland would fade into obscurity both economically and culturally. The UK would loose a lot of it's influence. Unity works, always has done. Separatism rarely does.
