Bruno Mars is back in the lab. A year after unleashing his breakthrough debut, the Hawaiian heartthrob has started work on his second album.
In between touring overseas, Mars returned to the studio to lay down the foundation for the follow-up to his Grammy-winning album Doo-Wops & Hooligans.
“I’m kinda jonesin’ to just work,” he told Ryan Seacrest. “We did a gig in Hong Kong—we were out there for three days—and I said, ‘I would love to just be in a studio out here.’ And I got in and I couldn’t leave, so I just wanted to start some ideas for this next album.”
He offered a hint at the direction of his next musical endeavor. “I want to have fun on this next album,” shared Bruno, who recently filmed a video for Lil Wayne’s single “Mirror.” “I think that’s the most important key, especially now that I’ve been on the road and am playing a lot of shows. I have a little more of a vision than I think I did with Doo-Wops & Hooligans.”
While fans wait for a new album, he is tiding them over with “It Will Rain,” the first single from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack. The video was scheduled to premiere last month, but has since been delayed. “I apologize to everybody that was waiting on this video,” said Bruno. “I take it real serious, these videos, and if it’s not right, I don’t want to put it out.”
I thought It will rain served as the lead single too, Maybe it will appear on the album anyway, Like how "Alice" appeared on Avril's Goodbye Lullaby album
