And 2012 could've been Adele again based on ther sales, grammys sweep, etc.

I wanted to fit in Ashanti, but can't. so 2002 is Avril & 2001 is Queen Aaliyah. I also think Shakira dominated 2006 more, on a WW scale, than Fegie.

Brit had no hits in 2008, she was still a joke not an "it girl". 2009 Gaga was far more accepted and praised than 2010 Gaga, 2010 Gaga was still huge for the first couple months of the year but it had already gotten to the point that people wanted her to go away. 2010 was undeniably Katy's year (sorry Ke$ha!) And Adele annihilated everyone in 2011 and 2012.

2009 - Best New Artist - Lady Gaga - JD, PF, Paparazzi performance + best new artist, AMAs, Bad Romance release + TFM
2010 - Artist of the year - Lady Gaga + The Grammys with Elton, the VMAs and the meat dress her Monster Ball Tour smashing .. It is definitely Gaga's year Katy had 3 number 1s ... this is nothing compared to Gaga's overall success in 2010..
