Since I only joined a few months ago, this will be my first time participating in Best of 2010. I'm hoping that it will be a fun experience and you will learn more about me by my musical tastes.
For my BO2010, I will be counting down my top 20 albums and top 50 tracks of the year. After much consideration, I have decided that I will allow songs that were released in 2009 but achieved prominence in 2010 in my countdown - but this applies to singles only. Regular album tracks are all from 2010. As are albums.
I wanted to do this earlier, but of course, there was an incident that need not be mentioned that prevented me from doing so. So I am forced to start this closer to the deadline, and thus this may feel a little rushed. But I am nonetheless very excited and the fun will begin tomorrow!
Think you can handle it?

Alright, here's how I think this is going to go. I'll start by posting a few tracks, and then I'll do a few albums later in the day. FYI, I'm only going to be doing explanations for albums, because I don't feel like writing out 50 explanations for songs, and I don't expect that anyone will care about or even read 50 explanations for songs.
So, shall we begin with the first round of tracks?
It's not a secret that I am not a fan of - hell, let's be real - that I despise Christina Aguilera. However, I cannot deny that I *****d this album out over the summer. This album had a lot of Gaga-esque tracks, which frankly was to be expected, but it also had beautiful pop ballads that showcased her voice (her greatest asset) and tracks that teetered the line of pop and electronica. With production credits from M.I.A., Switch, Ladytron, and Le Tigre on the roster, I guess this really isn't so shocking. Bionic actually had a few good songs, and though I eventually got tired of it (and it is currently sitting in my Recycle Bin), it warrants the #20 spot on my top 20 albums of 2010.
19. Justin Bieber - My World 2.0
I really didn't want to put this album on my list. I kept thinking of another album I could add to keep this off the list, but in the end, I decided to suck it up and put Justin Bieber's album on my top 20. Say what you will about his teenybopper image and his (mostly) idiotic fanbase, but he makes some pretty good pop music. From tunes inspired by soul and classic R&B ("Stuck in the Moment", "U Smile"), to unashamed bubblegum poppers ("Never Let You Go", "Overboard"), to dance-pop ditties that wouldn't be out of place in a party or club setting ("Baby", "Somebody to Love"), this really is one of the best teen pop albums I've heard in awhile. While, mainly due to Justin's name, this album will likely never be seen on my iPod, it would just be wrong if I didn't put it on this list.
Sorry guys, my computer got a virus yesterday (had to be fixed) and then I ended up visiting some of my family for Christmas earlier than I had intended, so yeah, I'm a little behind. So here's the albums and tracks I wanted to post yesterday, and today's tracks. Today's albums later

ALBUMS #18-17
18. Ke$ha - Animal
Ke$ha makes some damn good party music. Criticize her for using auto-tune excessively and singing about nothing other than partying, sex, body paint, alcohol, and glitter, but she's not trying to be the John Lennon of our generation. She simply makes fun dance-pop for people to get wasted to, and she does that successfully. With the exception of the ballads, unarguably the weak point of this album, this is great pop music that will get you out of your seat in just minutes.
17. Shontelle - No Gravity
It is a damn shame that good albums have to flop hard. A damn shame. While I enjoyed Shontelle's debut single "T-Shirt", I thought that she would be a one hit wonder. (Not that it was a big hit, anyway.) Oh, how wrong I was. This summer, she graced us with the beautiful pop ballad "Impossible", and I'm still mad that it didn't go top ten on the Hot 100. The iTunes previews for her first album, Shontelligence were... questionable. At best. So I skipped over that. But I'm glad I gave this a chance. No Gravity is a flawless mix of pop, R&B, and dance music, and this only shows potential. With full effort and better collaborators, Shontelle could possibly weave the three genres together better than stars like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Rihanna. I really hope she gets the success she deserves with this album after a disappointing start.
