2011 was undoubtably the year of Adele. 21 sold like crazy and RITD and SLY slayed the charts, and now SFTTR is quickly rising too. 21 is STILL #1 on the Billboard 200 chart even after 46 weeks since it was released. But do you think she deserves the success she's had or is she just overrated?

I think she's way overrated, I agree that she has one of the most powerful voices of the 2000s but her music all sounds similar and they're all about love. I'm waiting for her to fade like Taylor Swift because of this. I listened to 21 but it honestly bored me. Her voice is the only thing that she has going for her. I do think she deserves success but you can't go anywhere without hearing one of her songs on the radio.

21 bored you? That was one of the best albums of the year. It slew my soul as well as many others' souls. Maybe you should rethink your tastes.

No, she's not. She's established herself as an artist, and has made music that works for her. Shes great in her own right.

Of course her songs are all above love; that's the theme of her album. The songs sound nothing alike though; very different compositions. "Her voice is the only thing she has going for her?" I think having a great voice is the most important thing a singer should have going for them, don't you? And about her fading or not, no one can see into her future. We can agree though, based on SFTR setting fire to the charts, that she's not going anywhere for a looooong while.

She's one of the few artists around that has made it to the top on pure vocal talent and song quality. She doesnt even need videos!

I Love Adele, Someone Like You is the best song of 2011, but her album is extremely over rated. I only loved 5 songs of the whole album.

Obviously she does have talent, but people are acting like her voice is the be-all-end-all of vocal talent.

I voted no but I can see it. She's at phenomenon level success right now and I don't think anyone can escape being overrated in some way at that point. I do think she's a fantastic songwriter, vocalist and all around musician and deserves recognition for it, though, so I'm very happy for her.
