Is Gaga's downfall in fact adjustment to normal standard?
People who hate on her or the people who genuinely think that she has felt from the top tier level.
Are they mistaking her downfall with the adjustment to the normal level of a top tier pop girl.
Do this people forget that she had a meteoric rise and reached sky high levels of success and fame.
Should they take in consideration that selling 15 million copies of an album, 2 -7 million selling songs and a 200 plus million selling tour all in one era are a rarity not the norm. Do they make it more tragic that it is in reality.Cuz her numbers are just fine for the today's market.

Everything written in the OP
People are bandwagoning the "Gaga is a flop" when the truth actually is: - Artpop - 2.5m copies sold worldwide
- Applause - 3m copies sold worldwide
- Do What U Want - 1.5m copies sold worldwide
At lot higher than a lot of people ATRL consider to be main pop girls
People seem to be heavily influenced by what other stans and the media are saying, which is " Gaga is over" or " Artpop flopped", but the truth is that it didn't sell as well as her previous efforts, yet was an amazing sales achievement nevertheless... did any main girls besides Taylor & Beyonce outsell Artpop's 2.5m with their last album?

Obviously. The simple fact that her huge underperformance - Born This Way is the best selling album since 21 - February 2011 is an evidence of that.
Lady Gaga selling 2M albums WW with NO MANAGER and 1 video, 2 singles (G.U.Y. was released just to please the fans because of the blackout in the middle of the era ) so yeah...
I've said this many times, people are setting themselves for the biggest drags when Gaga's next album does ARTPOP numbers at the very worst. It would be easier for Gaga to outdo ARTPOP than to underperform, considering C2C is on track to sell 1M WW

Applause sold over 4M WW, as it's at 2.6M in the US right now. And DWUW sold over 2M WW, as it's at 1.3M in the US right now.

Yes.
ATRLers are the kind of people that would call Adele's next era numbers a downfall if she did like 10M WW.

Are the Little Monsters still defending ARTPOP? Isn't she slaying everyone with a jazz album, or something?

Exactly.
People forget ARTPOP managed to get a place inside the top 10 biggest albums of 2013 with a MONTH of sales and the 10th - 7th biggest albums this year worldwide didn't even outsell ARTPOP. Her underperforming numbers are on par / slightly better than today's market / year-end of highest performing albums. Taylor's the only artist dominating / reviving sales.
2014's "it" girls Ariana and Iggy can't even go gold and PRISM and BEYONCE are stalled at 3M-3.5M, which isn't exactly leaps over ARTPOP's worldwide sales. You'd expect the exaggeration of Gaga's flop and their success, they'd be selling A LOT more albums. Also, Nicki can't even debut higher worldwide than ARTPOP's US debut ...

Maybe if this were BTW era, but Artpop was a complete flop for ANY major pop girl not just the amazing Gaga. If Katy, Taylor, Miley, kelly Clarkson, Pink, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azllakia, or Rihanna failed to get a top 3 hit they would be dragged to hell and bak

But think about it this way... If she wasn't already a superstar then ARTPOP and Applause would have even worse number. I'm talking about B-list kind of number. The ARTPOP era was really a downfall, not an adjustment.

Except every single artist you just listed has failed to get a top 3, top 10, top 15, top 20 and in some cases top 40 peaking single in their career ...

Your position is bleak darling.
But she is still a huge star and more powerful than people ATRL puts on her level now. It wasn't cool to like Gaga during 2013 but she still managed to get 2M sold WW.

Selling almost 10M pure records isn't something to be proud of, nor an amazing number, but giving the circumstances and how the whole era has been handled starting with the release of the record and the total media blackout following right after that, it's not something as disastruos as some may say.
The era only had one single proper music video and only two singles. The album was still selling decently at the beginning of 2014 before fading into oblivion at the end of January mainly because of the lack of any single, promo or anything regarding the album.
Handled well, it could have sold about 2,5M and DWUW could have become as big as Applause.

BEYONCÉ sold 3.7m copies that are 1.9m more copies than ARTPOP "sold" copies and yes it leaps over ARTPOP's sales.
