Justin Bieber makes a triumphant return to the Official Singles Chart today as What Do You Mean becomes his first UK Number 1 and sets a new streaming record!
The track lands straight in at the top and earns the highest first-week streams for a single ever in the UK, the Official Charts Company can confirm, racking up 3.2 million plays in its opening week across chart-reporting streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and more.
The feat smashes the record set by One Direction last month, who tallied 2.03 million plays in the opening week of Drag Me Down’s release.
What Do You Mean is also Bieber’s fastest selling single in the UK with a combined sales total of 84,000, beating his previous best of 55,000 with 2012’s Number 2-peaking Boyfriend
