Last night's Super Bowl delivered a 47.6 Household rating and a 70 share in the 56 metered market ratings, down from last year's 48.1/71. It was the lowest rated metered market overnight rating for a Super Bowl since 2010's 46.4/68.
Not surprising judging by the quality of the game. It was so lopsided. And it wasn't hyped as much this year. Esepcially with all the talk of having to postpone it in case there was bad weather.
I'm not surprised. Not even the commercials were enough for me to tune in to that disaster of a game. Everybody knew who was going to win by the end of the 2nd quarter. I just watched Bruno's performance and turned the TV off.
It has to do with the game more than the halftime performer, to be honest.
According to Nielsen ratings, Super Bowl XLVI halftime show headlined by Madonna in 2012 remains the most-watched halftime show in history, with 114 million viewers or about 3 million more than the actual game.
