i dont understand why people drag singers that don't write in general. Songwriting and singing are two different talents just because you can do one doesn't mean you can/have to do the other. If you can thats just a bonus. People just find anything to drag down artists especially artists on Rihannas level.

Most singers are gifted in singing, dancing, writing, or producing. There are artists who can't sing, but can perform an intense performance. There are aritst who can only sing and captivate people with their voice. Rihanna is not criticized because she doesn't write or produce, she is criticized because she appears to lack talent. There's a huge difference. If Rihanna could sing like Adele then no one would care. If Rihanna could dance like Janet then she'd have that to fall back on.

Though I will say Rihanna has grown so much as a performer. Between her debut album and one of her last same sounding albums she developed. Her personality has started to come through a bit and that's what separates her from a lot of her competition.

They are just nitpicking because Rihanna is your perfect popstar, there is nothing else left to criticize!

Because Rihanna stans are super ****ing judgmental about every artist that isn't Rihanna. When they say Beyoncé can't 'emote' and that Taylor is 'basic'

If they would cool it, people would be less inclined to point out Rihanna's faults.

Because she's doesn't excel in ANY area. She's below average in singing, dancing, and performing , so people feel at the very least she should be able to write her own hits.

Nobody criticizes her for that though. People just feel unimpressed that she can't do anything. She can't sing (she technically can, but not great), she can't dance, she can't write, she can't compose, she can't play an instrument well.

It's good that she has great charisma, but yeah...

She's criticized for everything tbh. At the end of the day, she's give a nary **** what people think about her. You can see it. The "critics" see it. Her fans/haters see it. She's not fake and insecure like other pop stars.
