Wow, I didn't know things were this bad.

But why are they called migrants if they are refugees escaping war? Under international law, they do have certain rights like escaping their country of origin. Migrants are moving for financial reasons, two different things.

I don't get why they are even going to Germany? What do they expect to happen to them there? Free healthcare, benefits, housing?

It really worries me what will happen to these people. They are escaping war and want a better life

They escaped war the second they were on European land tho
Hungary, Serbia, Greece and all those other countries they went through to get to where they are are not at war.
Why this hysterical outbreak to get to Germany?
Why can't they just WAIT to get on these trains like regular passengers? Why do they do this? What is waiting for them in Germany??

Merkel acting like a saint when she is anything but altruistic. She knows Germany will benefit from the cheap, low-paid labour - just like they profited billions of euros from Greece's financial misery.

I'm seeing that a lot in the media. Not good to mix them up since people look down on migrants these days.

This is what I don't understand :s they are safe in multiple places but that's not enough and some of them are trying to swim to the UK :s

They would literally have a better life anywhere in the world, there's no need to flee from the Middle East to western Europe when Turkey/Greece/UAE/etc are right around the corner

Refugees from Syria are getting confused with economic migrants piling into Europe. The distinction needs to be made clearer. It doesn't help that economic migrants are opportunistically jumping on the bandwagon at a time of great crisis in Syria.

Maybe because there's a perception of higher quality of living?

For what I've seen, Western Europe is usually considered a standard of great opportunities, And maybe that's what they dream about. A country like Greece is not a place for refugees considering their current financial statues. I'e seen from the news many go to Germany to stay their or go to France, the UK, Spain or Northern Europe. Hungry and other countries are just an extension or launch pad to their final destination.
