That's not a big deal. I used to live in a high muslim area, and all the shops there sold only halal meat. But as a non-muslim, it makes no difference to me if it's halal or not.
However, the right-wing media in the UK are probably going to report this inaccurately to scare all the old white people.
i remember when i first heard about halal i thought it was so cruel. But after talking to several people about it, its not as cruel as it actually sounds, and a lot worse happens in slaughterhouses anyway.
Edit - I dont get why theyre getting rid of ham and bacon though, if Muslim folk dont want to eat it then they wouldnt, but there are people not of that faith, they should have the option.
Why? Is that the only audience they are catering? I'm confused
There's areas in the UK which are like 90% muslims, so most shops in those areas realize there's no point in selling normal meat. It's not worth it just for a few people. Simply just comes down to supply and demand imo.
Where are those stores located? Muslim countries? Because that makes perfect sense and the only messy one here is the people making a big deal out of it.
Good for Subway for being sensitive to different cultures. More companies should follow their example.

The stores are located across the UK, none of the countries in the United Kingdom are Muslim countries.
I think it's great that they are considering Halal options for their Muslim customers, as they are a minority group constantly overlooked within society. However I don't think they should just do away with ham and bacon.
